Is there any additives that can be added to older motors like a 1964JohnsEvinrude, to clean out the carborator
this would be for an old vintage motor 2 stroke ( mixed fuel ) .
thanks for any and all answers and if you have any other tips …{Please feel free}.
The guy that we bought this motor from in(Graiglist ) is from West Sacramento, Ca.
Dave Sliva, asured us me that it was old but that it ran just great…But also didn’t say anything about having to get a “pressured out ” gas tank and he did say that there was a small item that needed to be installed,
and that it was only a couple of dollars…turns out to be more like $95.00 from ” GONE FISHING MARINA” ….
at least the good thing was that my brother-in-law just happen to have an old pressured out gas tank with the exact part , anyway bottom line is DON’T TRUST THIS DUDE!

So again thanks for sharing any information and again the motor is a
JOHNSON/ EVINRUDE 15 HP 2 STROKE.
you could probably use spray carb cleaner and shoot it directly into the carb when running to help clean it out.
