Yes, absolutely First strike creatures can block and be blocked. It’s just a matter of the power/toughness matrix interaction between creatures.
like if I had a Wall of Razors (4/1)and blocked a Rushwood Elemental (4/4) with no counters on it, then the Rushwood would die and Wall would remain.
