On the Subject of the United States Army Cavalry Scouts….?
I’ve got several questions
-Why doesn’t the 75th Ranger Rgt. accept 19d’s?
-It seems that the first units to do Air Assault were cavalry troopers in Vietnam, why is it that they no longer do it, and that it is left to the Rangers and 101st?
-Will the accept applicants currently medicated for ADD?
-May one re-enlist as an 11b after several years as a scout, and be able to, and prepared to join the 75th?
-Do they actually do all the things it is said they do on goarmy.com, or are they just like infantrymen?
Sorry for all the questions, I ask for patience in answering, and that you do not act condescending in your answers.
I understand that in Vietnam it was the First Cavary division that did air assault and there was no 19D, however that entire division (upon reading we were soldiers once and young) seemed to be what 19D is today.

Concerning the ADD medication; contact your local USA recruiter and ask. You can phone them; listed in the phone book. You don’t need to give your name, just ask the question. Typically, medical conditions will need to have a waiver to enter the service. If you cannot function without the medication, your likelihood of joining will be quite low. If you can function off medication, you have a better chance. Not to be harsh, but it is very stressful conditions, and the members of the team need to know that each member is functioning at the highest attention level. If someone is on Ritalin, this will make the other team members question the attention level of that team member.
