Battle Axe…?
I am looking for some advice on how to go about the construction of a battle axe.
I am looking for advice on the construction of a REAL battle axe, geared toward a guy with little money.
A real battle ax or a fake battle ax?
I can help with fake…
Use a florist dry foam block (the green dense kind) or a Styrofoam block. They can be found in just about any craft store.
Carve the foam block into the shape of a battle ax. Paint the ax with a clear sealer and then paint it whatever color you want. The clear sealer will keep the paint from disappearing into the foam. (A lot of paint can get sucked into foam blocks!!!)
Attach it to an old ax handle if you have one or purchase a replacement handle for an ax at your local hardware store.

Ah-hah! You did want the real thing. Sorry, I’ve no experience in that field…and my answer seems a bit silly under the circumstances…but I tried! 
)
But here is what I found: A website for battle ax replicas which are not very expensive. The most expensive is $89 the least is $14.99: The catch is they won’t ship outside the US and they are intended to be for “show” so the blades are not sharpened.
